Provillus is a hair growth supplement that has been around the block for a very long time. In fact, this hair growth supplement has been around long before Folexin came on the scene.
If you’ve ever visited our blog before, you may realize that Folexin is one of our top recommended products to help you combat hair loss and we’ve also done a full review of it here.
That said, Provillus doesn’t fall too far behind.
Now the reason why we are writing this Provillus review post is due to the fact that we’ve been getting a lot of questions recently about this product. Most of you want to know how it works, if it works and everything in between.
You’ve talked, we have listed.
We understand that there is nothing as frustrating as when you are losing your hair. If you think about it, when someone sees you, the first thing they notice is your head.
And let’s be honest, who wants to wear a cap or beanie for the rest of their life?
If you are a man you may be tempted to just go bald like Michael Jordan or the Rock – But is that really what you want to do?
And what if you are a woman losing your hair?
There MUST be another way!
As it turns out, there is a better way.
If you act fast, that is, before your hair fall gets out of control, you can reverse hair loss and regrow your hair naturally in as little as 60 to 90 days. There are quite a few products formulated with ingredients that are scientifically proven to stop hair loss and speed up hair growth.
Provillus Is One Such Product
I know you are excited to learn about how this product works.
BUT, before we get into the details of the review though, it is important that you understand how hair loss occurs, and why this specific product may be the link between you and a full head of hair.
Firstly, there’s no reason to be alarm if you are only losing a few strands of hair on a daily basis. This is a completely normal and natural process that happens to everyone.
Day by day you some hair follicles will get weaker and eventually fall out while simultaneously, new ones are formed.
It is just a part of the hair growth cycle and this can be anywhere from 50 to 100 strands per day.
The Video Below Will Explain The Hair Growth Cycle
So if you have been seeing your hair falling off on your brush or comb, it is nothing to worry about.
The problem arises if the amount of hair you are shedding way surpasses the 50-100 strands limit. (Of course, you’d have to eyeball this and I think it should be pretty easy to tell if you are losing a lot of hair on a daily basis.)
But What If You Are Really Losing A Lot Of Hair?
If you believe your hair is falling out more than normal and you are experiencing some form of hair loss or receding hairlines, then you are at the right place at the right time.
Like any other problem that exists in the world, there are numerous solutions and offers (at a cost of course). Some sound like magic pills while others are downright life-threatening.
Such a big claim.
So, we decided to dig a little deeper to ascertain how this topical product works and whether or not it will work for you.
What is Exactly Is Provillus Hair Regrowth Treatment?
Back To Our Unbiased Provillus Review…
According to the official website, Provillus claims to reverse hair loss and thinning hair for people suffering from genetic baldness and does not provide any guarantee for those suffering from other hair loss causes.
It contains a combination of minerals and vitamins as well as herb extracts that supposedly address hair loss problems. It is also made using an FDA approved hair regrowth ingredient known as Minoxidil compound which serves as its active ingredient.
The topical solution for men and women contains 5% and 2% of Minoxidil respectively.
Available for both men and women, Provillus consists of a topical lotion for the scalp and an oral solution. The two formulas, however, differ in terms of chemical content but work together in synergy to tackle the underlying problem.
The product usually arrests the excessive and unusual lair loss and efficiently ensures the growth of more and new hair strands.
The Key Ingredients In Provillus Hair Loss Treatment
There are quite a number of ingredients in these formulas that make this an effective hair growth product both for men and women.
So below we’ll take a closer look at these ingredients and identify what role they play with regards to not only putting an end to hair loss but also stimulating new hair growth.
Ingredient #1 – Minoxidil
If you have been researching this product for some time then you would realize that one of the main selling points on most Provillus reviews is that it contains Minoxidil.
But What Exactly Is Minoxidil?
According to drugs.com, Minoxidil is a topical solution that is used to treat hair loss on the scalp.
This is the active ingredient from Provillus topical solution that is commonly found in topical balding treatments.
It is a chemically sourced compound that is safe and FDA approved. The compound works by widening the follicles and accelerating the development of new hairs.
It has also been proven to stop DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) production, the hormone responsible for androgenic alopecia and reverse its effects.
Now after researching this ingredient we realize there are two important points that you NEED to know.
- 1 - YES Minoxidil does help to regrow your hair BUT...
- 2 - It will NOT cause permanent regrowth of scalp hair.
From point #2 above it is evident that in order to regrow your hair and most importantly, maintain the results, continuous use is recommended.
Luckily, Provillus contains other ingredients that work in combination with Minoxidil to make it an all-round hair growth formula.
Ingredient #2 – Biotin
According to Healthline, biotin is a water-soluble vitamin that’s a part of the vitamin B family and it is sometimes referred to as vitamin H.
Biotin plays numerous roles in your health and well-being particularly with regards to the health of your hair, skin, and nails.
But here’s the kicker – just as with most other essential vitamins, if you have a deficiency of Biotin, you can run into some serious problems. Chief of which is hair loss!
Simply put, if you are not getting enough Biotin on a daily basis the growth of your hair will suffer.
That said, there are a number of foods that you can eat to increase your daily biotin intake, for example, organic meats such as liver or kidney, egg yolk, and nuts such as almonds, peanuts, and walnuts.
However, you would need to eat a TON of these foods in order to meet the recommended daily dosage that would make an impact on your hair growth process.
Ingredient #3 – Magnesium
Similar to biotin, a deficiency in Magnesium can lead to hair loss and balding.
And you want to know something shocking?
According to Viviscal, It’s estimated that well over 80% of adults do not get even the minimum amount of magnesium that they need. And almost none of them know they are magnesium-deficient.
So now you are aware that a lack of magnesium leads to hair fall, but how does it help to promote hair growth and why is it one of the ingredients in Provillus?
Well, getting adequate amounts of magnesium helps to promote hair growth in two main ways:
Magnesium plays a pivotal role in regulating calcium imbalances – in essence, it reduces the build-up of calcium ions on the scalp that would block your hair follicles.
You see, when calcium blocks off the pores/hair follicles, it is bad for your hair growth and as such, unblocking of the pores is one of the best things you can do to help the hair (and that’s what magnesium is for and very good at.)
Secondly, magnesium plays a very important role in the synthesis of proteins. And this is good news for two reasons.
- Your hair follicles are made entirely from proteins which means that better protein synthesis equates to healthier and stronger hair.
- Protein synthesis also plays a key role in the production of melanin which helps to prevent the graying of hair.
Ingredient #4 – Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 is water-soluble in nature and is an important member of the Vitamin B-complex. It is also a catalyst in many chemical reactions going in your body.
Similar to magnesium, Vitamin B6 is very important to the production of melanin and keratin. In fact, being a catalyst, the product of these two proteins cannot be completed without the presence of Vitamin B6.
Both of these proteins are directly related to the health of your hair.
So, essentially, vitamin B6 ensures that your hair follicles get enough keratin and melanin. Thus keeping your hair strands in good health. Source.
Another very important character of this vitamin is that it inhibits the binding of steroid hormones such as DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) to their receptors.
Now Dihydrotestosterone immensely affects your hair growth negatively and leads to hair loss by decreasing the length of the hair growth phase and reducing the size of the hair follicles. So by inhibiting DHT, vitamin B6 will naturally promote new hair growth.
This is why it is one of the essential ingredients in Provillus.
Ingredient #5 – Para-amino Benzoic Acid
This ingredient plays a major role when it comes to the body’s ability to fight most signs associated with aging including wrinkles, retarding and graying hair.
….And since hair loss is sometimes associated with aging, this ingredient is able to counter that thereby preventing any possible hair loss.
Convinced and ready to order?
How Does Provillus Really Work?
When you purchase your Provillus hair regrowth formula, it will come in two forms.
- A topical foam that is to be applied directly to the scalp and
- A capsule that you should take orally.
Users are required to apply the topical lotion twice daily while also taking the oral solution daily. The treatment should be used on a consistent basis to allow for follicles to grow and prevent continued hair loss.
This solution can, however, cause minor shedding or initial hair loss of the thinner hairs lining the scalp.
This treatment works to block DHT, the hormone primarily responsible for hair loss as you grow older. DHT can cause catagenic militarization and this, in turn, causes the hair follicles to become dormant.
Combined with the other essential nutrients/ingredients, the treatment provides nourishment for your hair follicle by supplying them with essential nutrients including magnesium, calcium, vitamin B6 and zinc.
So with continuous treatment, the hair follicles are strengthened thereby allowing new hair strands to grow.
Does Provillus Really Work?
This product has been subjected to many experiments to prove its efficiency.
For instance, a study has been conducted by dermatologists where 984 men with the same pattern hair loss were subjected to the tests to evaluate the effectiveness of a 5% minoxidil topical solution in reducing hair loss and promoting new hair growth.
The rest of the ingredients in Provillus have also been clinically tested and proven effective at treating the root cause of hair loss problems.
There are also claims on their website that the 100% of Provillus users reported that the product works by adding thickness, regrow past hair loss, add thickness and increase volume and shine in a 120-day study that was conducted.
Are There Any Provillus Side Effects To Worry About?
From the research we’ve done, we weren’t able to come across any ‘reported‘ side effects.
However, based on studies done on Minoxidil, a small percentage of persons may have side effects relating to dry and itchy scalp, and also tenderness of the scalp.
That said, it would be best for you to do a patch test before you apply the topical solution to your entire head. This way you’ll be able to tell if you are allergic to the product or if you would have any diverse side effects.
